hmmm...

So, it is evident that my I am drifting further and further away from one of my New Year's resolutions. This whole keeping up with my blog thing, was a lot harder than I thought. Just know that it is not because I have forgotten about you. It's just that we really are just, ...BUSY! Shoot, this is a hard job, but hey somebody's gotta do it, right? That is the saying, isn't it? ;)

We are pretty much just trying to stay warm for right now. Yes, I know it will be the beginning of March next week, but we are still in the smack dab middle of winter up here! Brrrrrr!

We are also still in the process of waiting to see what the Lord has in store for our family as far as job positions go. Daniel will find out towards the end of March if we will stay here for another couple of years or if we will be headed out of this winter wonderland. We are just hoping and praying that whatever the outcome, we will accept it graciously. We know that our God is ultimately in control of everthing we do!

Thank you, Lord!!

Have a great night, everyone!

Groocher

So yesterday, the kids wanted to watch Mickey's Christmas Carol for the gazillionth time, so we put it in and I started listening to their conversation. They think that Scrooge's name is "Groocher", and sometimes "Goocher", maybe they can't pronounce Scrooge, I don't know, but it makes me laugh everytime I think of it. Tayah was saying and laughing at the same time, "Hahaha, look at Goocher pinch Goofy's nose. hahaha" Oh, they are too funny!

Just another day in the Cochran home.

Weekly Update

Okay, so I've been trying to organize my house lately. Ummmm, it's a work in progress and that's all I can say at this point.

We've just been kinda hangin' out around the house. Not much going on, the kids were grounded from any electronics for a whole week, (due to disobeying the baby-sitter during Bible Study)...it seemed more like I was grounded from the electronics. ugh.
It did let their little imaginations run wild! They went camping, had picnics, went to the beach (bathing suits, towels, floaties and all), they even went on an airplane visit to Texas. It was fun, seeing what they would come up with next. It was not fun to try and get them to clean up after their adventures.

Well, they are "un" grounded now, but the funny thing is, the TV has been off most of the day. Good thing, I suppose.

I'll try and post some new pictures soon!

Swimming in the Winter??

This is what it looks like outside our house. So, is it possible, you say?

Yes, it is possible and a great way for the kids to burn some energy! We take them at "family time" to the gym and swim in their huge pool! It is awesome because the pool feels like it is filled with bath water! The kids absolutely love it and they just couldn't stop talking about it. It's great to see them that happy.

We took them to their favorite restaurant after church yesterday also, Tyler's Tenders, they had a blast. So this weekend was spent well with the family, we camped out in the living room, went to the gym together, made snow men out of marshmallows, went to church, had movie time (with popcorn of course), went swimming...what else could we have asked for out of a couple of days together?! Oh, it's so nice to find some fun things to do in the dead of winter.

First BIG Snow of the Year!! ...and it's still comin' down!

The kids are dying to get outside in all that white stuff! It will be fun, after the snow stops. It's been snowing all night long. It is so beautiful! I guess we have about 4 inches so far.

...and I will leave you with the outfit Kolton put on himself yesterday afternoon (he and Tayah change all day long), he was putting on a show for the camera too.

Silly little guy!

Fever...fooey!

So, Kason has started running fever today...not good. I hope it doesn't go any further than that. There is some nasty stuff going on around here, I hope we don't catch it. It's amazing to me that with all the vitamins that I give my kids every day that a germ would even dare come near us. Oh well, it has, so we have to figure out how to get them out of our house now. Pray, Pray, Pray!

Wal-Mart

So Wal-Mart has made an impact on Kason we guess, because last night Daniel and I were talking money and discussing what we need to be saving and such and those words actually came out "save money" so Kason overheard our discussion and all of a sudden blurted out..."Save money, look better, Wal-Mart." Now we know that is not the actual advertisement, but we thought it was hilarious. I think the guys that take the "people of Wal-Mart" photos, would probably disagree with the "look better" part. But anyway, their catchy little phrase will stick with you, even if you are only 4 years old. So now, he knows that we think it's funny, so at random times throughout the day he says it over and over again. hahaha

"Save money, look better, Wal-Mart."

Ahhh, Kason, you funny lil' boy!

Happy New Year!!

So, one of my many New Year's resolutions is to start working on this blog! I need to stay up-to-date with it, a lot better than I did when I started it. I will be posting pictures from our Christmas at home which means I'm going backwards, but oh well. I want to share with you all our wonderful experience that we had this year. This was the first year that we felt each of the kids actually started understanding what Christmas is really all about, so we had special things that we did to remind us of the true meaning of Christmas!
1. We sat down and watched The Nativity Story, all together as a family. Now this is not particularly a "kid" movie, but we felt that it would be good for them to really see what happened when baby Jesus was born. So we watched it, along with question and answer time too!
2. We opened a gift on Christmas Eve, super special treat for the kids...except that it was pajamas. But we wanted to start a little tradition, so that's what we're going to open every year on Christmas Eve, so that they can have something special to open their presents in on Christmas morn.

3. We made a birthday cake for Jesus, and sang to Him before we tore into that yummy thing mommy made!

We had such a great time together playing in the snow, making gingerbread men and their house, baking Christmas cookies, making gifts for our neighbors, Daddy fried another turkey, yummm. There were so many things that we did together and it just meant so much to each of us. The Lord really blessed us this year! We wanted to also try a new light on gifts and have each of the kids get three gifts, just like the gifts that the wisemen brought to baby Jesus, but didn't quite know what to get three toddlers to represent gold, frankincense and myrhh. As they get older we are going to try and explain it to them well, so that they understand the meaning of each gift they receive. We want them to enjoy Santa Claus as well! We were sure to leave him milk and cookies, and some reindeer food too.

I took a picture of our main Christmas tree, but forgot to take a picture of all of our other decor throughout the house...booooo. I took everything down last night. Except for the kids trees in their rooms, I'll run and take a couple of shots of those to show you. I forgot to snap a picture of the tree that we let the kids decorate in the front of the house. They had a blast, and did a super job actually!

All in all, we had a wonderful time together and stayed pretty busy.

During the construction of our gingerbread house.

Tayah's Pink Princess Tree

The Boys Texas Cowboy Tree...as you can see most of the ornaments have been rearranged in some way, they just couldn't seem to keep their distance...oh well, I told them they could decorate it. They loved it!

Happy New Year everyone! May the Lord surely bless your year to come! Love ya'll!!
